happy friday, y'all! it's a bright sunshiny day here in SoCal :)

so bright, my face glows and i need sunnies. ha!

i'm kinda obsessed with bangs right now. mainly because i want them, but can't have them. my hair is way too curly... they would shrink up into tight unruly curls. bummer.

here's a new "fill in the blank friday" from the little things we do!

1.  If I weren't     sixteen                  I'd love to be     traveling the world          .

i'm totally nerding out over here. it's insane.

my design teacher is a total typography nerd and incorporates typography into the class... perfect! plus, she has amazing glasses. bonus! just a quick blurb about my art class... it's my first formal art class and oh boy i did not realize how much goes into designing a piece of artwork. it's insane. and frankly, (there's that word again :]) it's intimidating to be sitting in class and all of the sudden the teacher says "okay. create!" um... if my creativity has and on and off switch... please, God. help me find it!

well, not much has happened to me lately... except for my first week in college! that was exciting :) but that also means i've been busy. and frankly, i'm quite tired and am only going to leave this quick blurb on here because I have school in the morning.

well, since a City and Colour concert was not an option last night, I met up with my friend Mali... we are hoping to start a weekly tradition of meeting up and watching old movies, or period pieces. Last night, we watched Little Dorrit--I'm hooked! I love BBC mini-series! umm who is psyched for Emma to start tonight? I am! It looks a lot better than the Gwenyth Paltrow version. Anywho... I'm so into Little Dorrit. At first, it was hard for me to get into because Dickens's stories and characters are always so eery... but who wouldn't suffer through it if it meant that you could stare at Matthew Macfadyen?

also, I'm half way through reading Pride and Prejudice... love! After which I will watch the BBC series. I loved Collin Firth in that series :)

so, tonight my best friend/cousin is celebrating her 16th birthday [yay!]. and how? by going to a City and Colour concert! and guess what... I can't go. GRR! i am so so so bummed. I miss my bestest bud :(

i'm going through one of my "i want! i want! i want!" phases. it's pretty bad. but how can i help it, when everything out there is so darn cool? for instance...


1. I dying for a record player... but my parents are holding off on buying one because they know I'll go crazy with collecting records... which may be true (no shame though, right?)

highschool dropout.

I dropped out of high school today.

well, technically not...

but today was my last day of traditional highschool.

beginning on january 25th, i will be a part-time independent study, part-time college student... at age sixteen. am i insane? probably. but insane or not, I can't be in highschool any longer. frankly, I've never enjoyed it. I need a change. I need a challenge. I need art. 

I really want to pursue graphic art and begin my portfolio and the art classes offered at my local CC should be incredible (at least when compared to my high school's art classes).

but first, I have an entire week off from school! I'm planning on crafting, vintage shopping, cleaning out my closet.... starting fresh.

i'm very excited :)
